“Crippler” Chris Leben (18-6) tested positive for the banned substance Stanozolol after his unanimous decision loss to “The Count” Michael Bisping (17-1) at UFC 89 in Birmingham 18 October, according to the UFC Monday.
Leben will be suspended for nine months and forfeit one-third of his fight purse.
Stanozolol is an anabolic steroid derived from testosterone.
UFC President Dana White said, “I am obviously disappointed with Chris, who has made great strides getting his life back on track.“
White added, “To his credit, he has taken responsibility for his actions and is accepting the punishment that has been handed down. But as always, the UFC puts the safety of its athletes first and foremost, and we won’t tolerate anyone using performance enhancing drugs in our organization.”
Leben’s fight versus Bisping was originally scheduled for UFC 85 in June in London, England, but had to be postponed while Leben served a prison sentence for an old DUI probation violation.

There ya go kids, steroids make you lose by unanimous decisions..
I’ve posted it here before. Three out of four times, the fighters who test positive were losers in the fight. They’re using to make up for a lack of something, lack of confidence, lack of skill, etc. It just doesn’t work.
Getting caught is lack of intelligence and a sign of ignorance. Most pro athletes use performance enhancers and most are smart enough not to get caught.
Damn WTF!!!!! I like Chris Leben but what a stupid ass thing to do!!! After all that “I got my life together and moved to hawaii and quit partying and drinking” talk we all had to hear before the Bisping fight, well Chris it looks like u went from one extreme to the next!
pretty amazing transformation though
Oh yeah don’t get me wrong I’m happy for the guy but shit man he knows better than that! Now he has just made it tougher on himself dealing with people calling him shit like BJ Penn calling Sherk and GSP cowards in the October issue of FightSport because Penn thinks StPierre is on the shit LOL
