American Top Team fighter Denis Kang (32-10-1) has signed a four-fight deal with the UFC, Kang confirmed on the Savage Dog Show Monday.
The PRIDE and DREAM veteran had spoken with the UFC in the past but declined to sign a contract then.
Kang explained his reasons for signing at this time: “Honestly I was a little bit sick and tired of traveling so far to Japan after a while, you know what I mean?
“And also the contract, the negotiation went very well with the UFC this time, better than before. That was definitely a big factor right there.”
An ATT representative said in a statement, “Denis has always expressed a desire to fight in the UFC and we are pleased we were able to help him get this deal done. Denis will bring a lot of excitement to the 185-pound division!”
Kang fought at Raw Combat 25 October in Calgary, where he KO’d UFC vet “Beastman” Marvin Eastman (15-9-1) 46 seconds into the first round.
