Bellator 78 Results: Welterweight final set between Lyman Good-Andrey Koreshkov

It was a night of champions past and present at Bellator 78, as current title-holder Zoila Gurgel took to the cage as did former divisional king Lyman Good. Were that not enough, DREAM stand-out Marius Zaromskis saw action along with featherweight tournament finalist Daniel Straus and heavy-handed promotional star Brian Rogers.

Good, along with fellow welterweight semifinalist Andrey Koreshkov, advanced to the final of the organization’s Season 7 field with a pair of strike-based stoppages. Koreshkov’s TKO came against Zaromskis, showing impressive skill against the hard-hitting kickboxer, while Good’s wasn’t quite as convincing but still solid, smothering Michail Tsarev from start to finish before notching the finishing blow.

Straus also finished his foe, tapping out UFC veteran Alvin Robinson in the second stanza of their scrap with a Rear-Naked Choke.

Meanwhile, Gurgel and Rogers both received nods from the ringside judges after looking sharp, albeit not completely dominant in their respective duels. Rogers pounded on opponent Dominique Steele throughout the tilt but couldn’t put the tough up-and-comer away. Comparably, Gurgel started slow after her 18-month layoff from action due to injury, but picked up steam in the latter stages of the bout to ultimately came away with the decision victory.
