Herschel Walker on ESPN Wednesday

Straight from the Strikeforce PR department.  Herschel Walker will be all over ESPN on Wednesday talking about his next fight on Dec. 4th.  Walker continues to train at AKA in San Jose, CA along side UFC fighters Jon Fitch and Josh Koscheck.  Read on for details.

WHAT: Live Interviews on ESPN First Take, The Herd with Colin Cowherd & SportsCenter

Walker will discuss his upcoming, second professional STRIKEFORCE MMA bout  at Scottrade Center in St. Louis, live on SHOWTIME® (10 p.m. ET/PT, delayed on the West Coast) on SaturdayDec4.

Walker will face an opponent to be determined in a televised heavyweight bout.  MMA superstar Dan Henderson will take on former STRIKEFORCE world champion Renato “Babalu” Sobral at light heavyweight (205 pounds) in the main event.

The 48-year-old Walker, the 1982 Heisman Trophy winner and two-time NFL Pro Bowl competitor, is undefeated at 1-0 in his latest athletic endeavor – MMA.  A 1999 College Hall of Fame inductee, the 6-foot-1, 220 pound Walker was also selected to Sports Illustrated’s NCAA All-Century Team that year.

Walker has been training alongside a host of MMA superstars at American Kickboxing Academy (A.K.A.) in San Jose, Calif., since last year.  A longtime martial artist, he holds a fifth degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do as well as additional training in the combat disciplines of Muay Thai and Kenpo. .

Walker was recently a contestant on Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice reality series.  An entrepreneur at heart, Walker is the founder and CEO of Herschel’s Famous 34, a food services company.

    Good to see Walker out there promoting. I think he’s a great ambassador for the sport to the general public, because he treats it with love and respect. Good for him and good for Strikeforce.
