Shaner, Lemke Defend Titles at GCF in Milwaukee
By: Chad Edward Posted On: October 12, 2009 at 10:34am“Old Man” Reese Shaner (11-3) and “Gibby” Steve Gibson (1-0) will fight for the Gladiators Cage Fighting heavyweight championship at GCF’s Strength & Honor at the Wisconsin Products Pavilion in Milwaukee November 7.
Iconic kickboxer Duke Roufus was a matchmaker for GCF until he stepped down last spring. However, fighters who train at Duke Roufus MMA Academy in Milwaukee are still heavily featured on GCF cards.
GCF’s light heavyweight champ “Fighting Fireman” Justin Lemke (4-2) will also defend his title from “Bull” Caleb Nelson (3-1). Lemke is a Roufusport-trained fighter.
Lightweight prospects “Danny Boy” Danny Downes (4-0) of Roufusport and “Bones” Dave Kless (5-0) will of Agallar Combat System will tangle for Wisconsin bragging rights.
Lightweights Ryan Landry (3-1) and Nick Dupees (0-1) will matchup.
Roufusport middleweight “Robo Cop” Karl Turek (7-4) is searching for an opponent to step-up.
