Strikeforce fighter Sara McMann scratched from November 3 card due to injury

Strikeforce has had a rough go of it lately, losing headliner after headliner due to injury. Now it looks like one of their newest signings, and a likely challenge for bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, has been added to the list of casualties.

Apparently, unbeaten Olympian Sara McMann suffered some sort of injury while training for a November 3 bout with Liz Carmouche and has been pulled from the card. It is unknown as to whether Strikeforce will seek to replace her or cancel the match-up completely.

MMAWeekly was first to report McMann’s condition.

Strikeforce Reportedly at Risk of Being Disbanded

The 6-0 McMann joins Frank Mir and middleweight title-holder Luke Rockhold as fighters previously scheduled for the show that have since been yanked from the lineup for health-related reasons. The number of withdrawals has left fans wondering if Showtime might pull the plug on broadcasting the event as they did last month when lightweight champ Gilbert Melendez went down, possibly even signaling the end of Strikeforce’s relationship with the network.
