Fighters.com’s Welterweight Champion and UFC champ “Rush” Georges St. Pierre (17-2) has signed with CAA Sports, a division of the Creative Artists Agency.

CAA Sports will work in conjunction with St. Pierre’s manager, Sheri Spencer, to build new marketing and endorsement opportunities for the fighter.

Spencer stated, “CAA Sports is the best talent agency in the world and an ideal partner to guide the professional growth of the world’s best fighter.  Georges’ appeal transcends the Octagon and I am confident that together we can introduce Georges, and the entire sport of MMA, to a wider audience.”

Co-head of CAA Sports Howard Nuchow said, “Beyond being a fierce competitor and a tremendously skilled fighter, Georges St. Pierre‘s class, integrity and humility also make him a terrific ambassador for the sport.  We look forward to creating opportunities for Georges that cross international borders and build upon his widespread appeal.”

St. Pierre last fought in August when he successfully defended his belt against fifth-ranked Jon Fitch (17-3) with a unanimous decision victory.

He is next expected to face Lightweight Champion “Prodigy” B.J. Penn (13-4-1) on SuperBowl weekend in Las Vegas.

CAA is a widely recognized agency which counts Derek Jeter, LeBron James, Sydney Crosby, and David Beckham among its sports clients.

I am going to be interested to see if this GSP/Penn fight really takes place. I have heard two UFC fights announced since this rumored fight. Guess we’ll just keep our eyes and ears open.
