Jackson v Silva, Griffin v Evans Set for UFC 92

Fighters.com’s second-ranked light heavyweight “Rampage” Quinton Jackson (28-7) will face sixth-ranked “Axe Murderer” Wanderlei Silva (32-8-1), and Light Heavyweight Champion Forrest Griffin (16-4) will defend his title against “Sugar” Rashad Evans (12-0-1) in Las Vegas 27 December at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, reported Kevin Iole of Yahoo! Sports Thursday.
Also headlining the event is an interim heavyweight title match between Fighters.com’s Heavyweight Champion “Minotauro” Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (31-4-1) and Frank Mir (11-3).
Jackson and Silva previously fought twice before in PRIDE, with Silva coming out the victor both times.
Jackson last fought in July when he lost his title to Griffin in a unanimous decision.
Silva is coming of a 36-second KO of “Dean of Mean” Keith Jardine (13-4-1) in May.
Griffin will be defending his title for the first time against Evans.
Evans most recently upset fourth-ranked “Iceman” Chuck Liddell (21-6) in September by second-round KO.
Nogueira and Mir are coaches in the current season of The Ultimate Fighter.

Jackson over Wandi
Griffin over Evans
I’m sorry to say, for some strange reason, I could not care less for Nog vs. Mir…. I don’t even care who wins.
Wandi is off the juice and sloppy now.
Griffin is polished and in the groove, while Evans did impress the shit out of me last fight, the experience with high caliber fighters will get Griffin over in this one.
I got Jackson over Wand
Nogueira over Mir
Evans over Griffin
Just my hopes anyway! lol
When i heard this fight i almost shit myself. Forrest has been my favorite fighter since his premiere on TUF, and i’ve been saying (along w Matt Hughes) that Rashad Evans is the best light heavyweight in the UFC. Im gonna go w my gut and take Forrest over Rashad and Wanderlei over Rampage. If you’ve seen the last two fights with these two you would have to be crazy to think Rampage would win. Especially after Silva’s first round KO of Jardine and Rampage’s stint in the psych ward/prison after his last loss. Ha, regardless, what an intense fight card!
