As we reported yesterday on Fighters.com, Michael Bisping has been sidelined with an eye injury and will not be able to fight as expected at UFC Fight Night 30 event set to take place in Manchester, England. The injured middleweight issued an apology to his fans in the Telegraph and encouraging UFC fans to still attend the event.
UFC Fight Night Machida Vs Munoz takes place on October 26 at Manchester, in Manchester, England. In the main event, Lyoto Machida will be making his middleweight debut in a five round bout against Mark Munoz to see who takes a big step up in the middleweight division. In the co main event, lightweights Ross Pearson and Melvin Guillard are set to throw down.
“I am devastated for everyone who bought tickets to see me fight Munoz. I am so sorry for the fans, I really am. I am disappointed for myself too, but my first thoughts are with the fans who have made sacrifices to come and see me in Manchester.”
“I can only apologise to them, and to the UFC. I have been training so hard for this fight, that I just cannot believe I will not step into the Octagon in Manchester. But I promise my fans I will be back real soon. It will still be a great night for the UFC fight fans as Lyoto Machida will take my place. So go to the Phones4U Arena and still have a great time.”
