Andrei Arlovski fighting Devin Cole at World Series of Fighting event

Two heavyweights with a propensity for putting opponents away have been paired up for a meeting at the inaugural World Series of Fighting event, as a bout between Andrei Arlovski and Devin Cole has been announced for the November 3 lineup. Both men will enter the bout with back-to-back wins in the rear-view mirror and double-digit TKOs to their credit.

WSoF officials confirmed the clash earlier today in a press release.

“We are thrilled to welcome both Andrei and Devin to the World Series of Fighting roster and to have them headline our first live event,” said promotional president Ray Sefo. “Both of these heavyweights have delivered some incredibly memorable highlights during their careers and their matchup should be a barnburner.”

Arlovski was last seen scrapping with Tim Sylvia under the ONE FC banner where he saw a win dissolve into a No Contest based on some confusion relating to the organization’s rules on kicks to a downed opponent. Prior to the fight he’d scored consecutive TKOs, improving his number of strike-based stoppages to 13 in 17 total wins.

The 20-9-1 Cole emerged as a force in Strikeforce where he went the distance against Daniel Cormier and defeated Shawn Jordan. Thirteen of his victories have involved some form of finish including ten TKOs.

The November event is expected to feature a number of other notable competitors on the card including Gesias “JZ” Cavalcante, Gerald Harris, and Miguel Torres.
