UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson fought for 25 minutes on Saturday night, and according to UFC President Dana White they both left the octagon ‘looking like they were going to die.’ When it was all said and done, Jones was declared the winner via unanimous decision and is now arguable the greatest 205’er in UFC history. While we still don’t know the extent of Jones’ injuries, we are starting to hear that Gustafsson hasn’t sustained any serious injuries himself. Eric Del Fierro, Gustafsson’s head coach, is now saying that while Gustafsson is banged up he didn’t suffer anything serious.
Del Fierro told Bleacher Report:
“He is sore. He got five staples I believe in the top of (his) head.”
