A new bout has been announced for the UFC Fight For The Troops card. According to UFC officials, Derek Brunson will meet Braga Neto at the card scheduled for November. Brunson last fought at UFC 155 against Chris Leben and was able to get back in the winning column via decision. Brunson was scheduled to fight at UFC 164 but was forced off the card with an undisclosed injury. Neto was able to win his debut against Anthony Smith at UFC On FUEL TV.
UFC Fight For The Troops, also known as UFC Fight Night 31, takes place on November 6 at Fort Campbell in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. In the main event, Lyoto Machida will make his middleweight debut against Tim Kennedy. While both fighters are rebounding from losses, many feel Machida should have gotten the nod over Phil Davis. This is the third time the UFC is hosting a Fight For The Troops, and the proceeds from the event will benefit injured soldiers returning from overseas.
