This past Saturday night was a good one for colorful catch-wrestler Josh Barnett. Not only did the 31-5 “Warmaster” earn a spot in the final of the Strikeforce World Grand Prix with a convincing first round finish of Sergei Kharitonov, but he exited Cincinnati with the event’s largest paycheck and it didn’t even feature a win bonus!
The lot of “Strikeforce: Barnett vs. Kharitonov” paydays was released earlier today by the Ohio Athletic Commission and listed Barnett as the night’s top earner with $150,000.
Other stand-out salaries included those of Barnett’s fellow Grand Prix participants with the trio of Kharitonov, Antonio Silva, and Daniel Cormier all coming away with $100 grand each. Cormier’s total was assisted by a $50,000 bonus he scored by flattening “Bigfoot” Silva with strikes in the opening frame of their fight.
