Fans in Canada will no doubt be glad to hear two of their country’s own will collide in Montreal when the UFC heads there on November 17 for a show already featuring area products Patrick Cote and Georges St-Pierre in main card clashes.
According to event officials, a bout between stand-up savvy competitors Sam Stout and John Makdessi has been added to UFC 154. The two lightweights have each won the bulk of their bouts by way of knockout including sixteen total strike-based stoppages.
Stout is coming off a hard-fought decision win over Spencer Fisher, improving his overall record to 18-7-1 in the process with past victories over the likes of Yves Edwards, Matt Wiman, Paul Taylor, and Joe Lauzon. Comparably, Makdessi is 9-2 in his career and was undefeated entering the UFC before going 2-2 since.

UFC 154 is headlined by St-Pierre putting his welterweight belt on the line against interim champion Carlos Condit. Other Canadian fighters pegged for action at the event include Mark Bocek, Francis Carmont, and Mark Hominick.
