Paul Heyman doesn’t see Brock Lesnar returning to MMA

As the saying goes, life often imitates art. While many people may not consider WWE on the same level as a Monet, there’s little question about the role acting plays in both professional wrestling and the fine arts scene, and few performers do it better than former ECW head and current Brock Lesnar mouthpiece Paul Heyman.

Heyman’s life outside of the ring is also connected with Lesnar as a longtime friend and occasional business partner. As such, he’s qualified to offer an informed opinion about the former UFC champion and WWE Superstar. And, according to Heyman, it seems wrestling is still at the forefront of Lesnar’s agenda meaning MMA fans shouldn’t expect to see him in the Octagon anytime soon if ever again.

“I think Dana White would love to have Brock Lesnar back. I think Lorenzo Fertitta would love to have Brock Lesnar back. Does Brock Lesnar want to go back? I don’t think Brock has anything to prove in the UFC anymore,” stated Heyman in an interview with MMAJunkie, referring to interest from UFC heads White/Fertitta.

“He’s 35 years old. He made a lot of money in the UFC,” he continued. “His house and his farms and his cars and everything that he owns is paid for. Why would he go in and risk injury and concussions and risk any kind of physical damage when he doesn’t need to? That’s the thing you have to understand. How hungry can a fighter be when he has millions and millions of dollars in the bank? What’s there for him to gain? Another run as UFC heavyweight champion? Why would he do that?”

White Brushes Off Talk of Lesnar Fighting Fedor Emelianenko

However, Heyman did say he thinks Lesnar will step into the UFC’s infamous eight-sided cage at least one more time…to accept a Hall of Fame nod. In Heyman’s opinion, Lesnar’s impact on the company over a seven-fight span and run as heavyweight king should be enough to earn the honor.
