Chris Weidman battling Tim Boetsch at UFC 155

An important middleweight match-up with contendership implications has been inked for the UFC’s annual NYE Weekend event, as organization officials have announced Chris Weidman will put his perfect record on the line against surging scrapper Tim Boetsch at UFC 155. Both men are on impressive winning streaks in the division and are on the cusp of challenging for the championship.

“I think I’m the best middleweight in the world, and I’m going to prove it against another top contender,” said Weidman in a press release on the pending rumble.

Weidman is 9-0 thus far in MMA since transitioning from an accomplished career on the amateur wrestling scene. He has come out triumphant in five UFC fights including wins over Alessio Sakara, Demian Maia, and most recently Mark Munoz.
