World Series of Fighting announces star-studded inaugural event featuring Miguel Torres and more

It appears there’s a new player on the MMA scene, at least for the immediate future. While the cement seems to still be setting on the organization’s foundation, the World Series of Fighting held a press conference this week where four fights were announced for the company’s upcoming debut on November 3.

As expected, former WEC champion and UFC fan-favorite Miguel Torres will headline the show though he has not received an opponent yet. Other match-ups on the card include Josh Burkman-Gerald Harris, Gregor Gracie-Tyson Steele, Ronys Torres-Brian Cobb, and Gesias Cavalcante-John Gunderson. Bobby Lashley, Rolles Gracie, and James McSweeney will also see action in the WSoF’s ten-sided cage.

The Las Vegas-based event is expected to be broadcast live on NBC Sports.

Torres recently announced he’d signed with WSoF after being released by the UFC. He holds an overall record of 40-5 including 32 stoppages and wins over Takeya Mizugaki and Antonio Banuelos.
