Evans viciously knocked out Fighters.com’s fourth-ranked light heavyweight “Iceman” Chuck Liddell (21-6) in the second round Saturday night in Atlanta.

“How can you say he doesn’t deserve a title shot,” White told media after the surprise “W”.

White wouldn’t specify a date, but said he had a date in mind.  Fighters.com has speculated that Griffin will defend his title in Las Vegas 27 December.

Griffin won a five-round unanimous decision over top contender “Rampage” Quinton Jackson (28-7) for the UFC and Fighters.com titles in Las Vegas 5 July.

That is good to hear. He definitely deserves it. It would be sick to see it on the finale of the TUF season since they’re both TUF alumni. I bet it would get MILLIONS of viewers.

I really thought they would give Jackson a shot at a rematch or at Rashad before they let Rashad fight Griffen… wow..

That was one insane knockout last night though… amazing

personally i dont think evans or jackson deserves a title shot. jackson should not had gotten his shot the first time. nor should had griffith. jackson has yet to beat w.silva and griffith didnt beat any one to deserve the fight against jackson. liddell was 1-2 before the evans fight, he definetly wouldnt have deserve the shot, the only one who has beaten top fighters and deserves the shot at the title is machida. maybe make griffith wait, a few more months, have evans and machida duke it out then give griffith the winner. but thats only my opinion which means nothing. mean while watch out for anderson silva

Machida definently deserves a shot more then evans, evans wont be able to compete with griffin, evans gases out too easily, liddell is the only top competitor evans has faced, not to mention chuck is getting old, dont get me wrong chuck is one of my favorites but he is out of his prime.. evans vs machida would be great, or even evans vs wanderlei and griffin vs machida

I agree, there should be a fight between Lyoto Machida and Rashad Evans for number 1 contendership.
