Bethe has defeated two of Ronda Rouseys training mates, something that made the champion interested in a fight.
UFC Bantamweight Champion “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey (10-0) has demanded to meet the Brazilians Bethe Correia (9-0), this after Correia struck out Rouseys friend and teammate Shayna Baszler at the UFC 177 this weekend. In addition to that Correia also sent a challenge to Rousey, which has gotten the champion eager to fight, says UFC president Dana White.
“As soon as (Correia) started talking, (Ronda) texted me and said, ‘I want that fight. I want it now. I want it before someone else beats her'”, said White during a interview with the media after UFC 177.
“I said, ‘Calm down, lady. You’ve got other people to fight. We’ll figure it out. ‘There’s a long waiting list for Rousey right now, so we’ll see what happens. ”
Rousey is part of an unofficial group of MMA Figthers including Baszler, Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke, that Correia defeated via unanimous decision at UFC 172 group called “The Four Horse Men,” a group that has become a goal for the Brazilians that previously told to that she plans to defeat all four.
So far, Correia has won three straight fights in the UFC, a win streak she began with a smooth victory via split decision over veteran Julie Kedzie.
Rousey remains unbeaten and has lined up four straight successful title defense in the UFC. The most likely title contender next’ll be Cat Zingano if she get past Amanada Nunes at UFC 178.
