As reported first by Fighters.com, Tulsa-based featherweight prospect “Dark Knight” Travis Calanoc (4-0) will make his Strikeforce debut at Strikeforce Challengers 3 in Tulsa 25 September.
Strikeforce confirmed Monday that Calanoc will fight Muay Thai champion and fellow Tulsa resident Thomas Longacre (4-0).
Calanoc is a Marine Corps Martial Arts blackbelt who trained with “Eastside Assassin” Mikey Burnett (5-2) before entering the military. He TKO’d American Top Team’s Renato Tavares (4-4) at Freestyle Cage Fighting in Tulsa last April.
Longacre won a three-round UD over Shane Waits (7-6) at Collision Course in Tulsa last March.
Also reported first by Fighters.com, Tulsa’s “Platypus” Josh Pulsifer (11-4) will fight on the preliminary card. He draws fellow Oklahoman Nick Gibbons (3-0).
The rest of the fight card includes:
Levi Avera (12-5) v “Gentleman” Paul Bradley (10-1)
Brandon Gaines (3-10) v Trey Houston (1-0)
John Carson (0-2) v Kenny Giddens (8-5)
Lemont Davis (2-3) v Dillon Smith (0-0)
