Few fighters possess the type of approach UFC lightweight title-contender Anthony Pettis takes when it comes to striking. “Showtime” lives up to his nickname in nearly every fight by throwing an unorthodox punch, knee, elbow, or kick along the way such as his infamous “Showtime Kick” from his 2010 tilt with Benson Henderson.
Now the UFC champion, Henderson is ready to take Pettis on again when he locks horns with the talented 26-year old at UFC 164. This time around, Henderson is confident he’ll be ready for anything wild Pettis performs inside the Octagon.
At the pre-event press conference, Henderson stated…
“We definitely prepared. I have a great training camp and great trainings partners. They threw a bunch of weird stuff at me to keep me on my toes and made sure I had my eyes open. They did a really good job – a great job – of being able to mimic Pettis and throw some of their own stuff that was unique, off the wall…weird stuff I’d never seen before.”
“I’ll be ready for it if it happens.”
