UFC Fight Night 49’s Max Holloway made it three-for-three in terms of wins and finishes this year, taking care of Clay Collard in Tulsa Saturday night.

Since a losses to Conor McGregor last August via decision and Dennis Bermudez earlier this year by split decision, Holloway has been unstoppable. He earned a TKO over Will Chope in January and followed it up with a submission over Andre Fili.

Holloway picked Collard apart, connecting on numerous shots that appeared to have the boxer ready to surrender. However, it was until the third when he brought him to the ground with a knee that he went to work on finishing for good.

“This guy is a fighter,” Holloway said. “He took this fight on 10 days notice, give it up for him. I felt in the third – we had a tough first two rounds – that I would try for the finish and praise the lord, it was there.”

After transitioning from mount to the back, Holloway continued to pepper Collard until the ref stepped in. He now owns five finishes in 10 career wins.

Holloway mentioned both Bermudez and Dennis Siver as potential fights next, saying, “I don’t think Bermudez is on that streak (in regards to the split decision verdict) and I’d like to rematch with him.”

The loss dropped Collard to 13-5. This was his Octagon debut.
