MMA fans may be in store for an early Christmas present this December in the form of popular female fighter Gina Carano’s return to the ring at a yet-to-be announced Strikeforce show.
Carano hasn’t been seen on the MMA front since losing the first fight of her career to Cris “Cyborg” Santos more than two years ago. However, “Conviction” was scheduled to fight this past June in Houston before unexpectedly withdrawing due to unknown medical issues.
News of her potential comeback was reported first by F4WOnline.
The 7-1 scrapper out of Las Vegas has kept busy since her last bout with a focus on her film career. Most notable, Carano will play the lead character in Steve Soderbergh’s “Haywire” which is set for release early next year.
The only other match-up rumored for the December 17 Strikeforce event is a lightweight title-fight between champ Gilbert Melendez and top contender Jorge Masvidal.
