If you only had tp pick one fight to watch from UFC Fight Night: Shogun Vs Sonnen chances are you would pick the fight of the night winning bout between Brad Pickett and Michael McDonald. It only lasted two rounds, but McDonald controlled the bout from pillar to post with his striking. In a fight many thought Pickett would win outright, McDonald stunned the crowned with his punching combinations that were always two steps ahead of Pickett the entire fight. McDonald almost finished the fight multiple times with his hands in the first round, but Pickett was able to stay alert and at least defend himself. In the second round, Pickett took McDonald down to the ground, and it was only a matter of time until McDonald slapped the triangle choke on Pickett to get the tap.
The fight earned each fighter a fight of the night bonus, and McDonald was awarded the submission of the night as well and walked out with $100,000.
