MMA Returns to Wilmington, Massachusetts With WCF 8 in September
By: Fighters.com Staff Posted On: August 17, 2009 at 11:44pmWelterweight “Beast” Mike Campbell (6-2) will return to World Championship Fighting with his tail between his legs after two losses in 5:42 of fighting in the WEC to fight WCF-debuting Mike Medrano (5-3) at WCF 8 in Wilmington, Mass. 26 September.
Campbell tapped in a triangle choke to “Showtime” Anthony Pettis (9-0) at WEC 41 in Sacramento 7 June. In his last WCF cameo, Campbell TKO’d Rich Moskowitz (10-5) in Wilmington in June 2008.
Medrano won a three-round decision over “Wicked” Phillip Wyman (4-3) at Elite Fighting Challenge in Norfolk, VA 27 June.
On the undercard, featherweight Dan Bonnell (6-5) will take on Bellator vet Josh LaBerge (3-4).
Undefeated WCF prodigy Kevin Corrigan (2-0) and fellow undefeated prospect Saul Almeida (4-0) will fight to keep their zeros intact.
Welterweights Dennis Olsen (7-1) and Ryan Schieding (5-1) will also square off.
