Yves Edwards scheduled to face Jeremy Stephens on October 5

A lightweight tilt between hard-hitting warriors Yves Edwards and Jeremy Stephens has been set for the UFC’s October return to FX where each man will attempt to numb the sting of a recent defeat. Both men are considered to be among the division’s top strikers and have a reputation for turning in entertaining tilts meaning fans should definitely be in for a treat when the cage door closes.

UFC on FX 5 is scheduled for October 5 and features heavyweights Antonio Silva-Travis Browne battling in the main event.

MMAWeekly was first to report the match-up.

The 41-18-1 Edwards hasn’t fought since a decision loss to Tony Ferguson last December, suffering an injury earlier this year sidelining him since. The seasoned veteran had gone 4-1 inside the cage prior to the defeat and holds past wins inside the Octagon over the likes of Rafaello Oliveira, Hermes Franca, and Josh Thomson.

A Closer Look at Edwards’ Last Outing

In addition to simply scoring a victory at the event, Stephens will also be looking to avoid a three-fight skid. He holds an overall record of 20-8 with fourteen strike-based stoppages.
