UFC Fight Night 19: CB Dollaway v Dan Miller, Simpson v Herman Back On
By: Chad Edward Posted On: August 11, 2009 at 9:29amThe Ultimate Fighter 7 finalist “Doberman” CB Dollaway (8-2) will fight Dan Miller (11-2) at UFC Fight Night 19 in Oklahoma City 19 September, according to MMA Madness.
Dollaway suffered a disappointing 55-second tapout loss by guillotine to “Filthy” Tom Lawlor (6-1) at UFC 100 in Las Vegas 11 July.
Miller hung in there with former WEC middleweight champ Chael Sonnen (22-10-1) at UFC 98 in Las Vegas 23 May, but lost by UD.
The favorite to win TUF’s seventh contest, Dollaway is just 2-2 in the Octagon and needs a win more than Miller, who hadn’t lost in the UFC until his last fight.
Miller had been recruited to fight “A-Train” Aaron Simpson (4-0), replacing “Short Fuse” Ed Herman (15-7) who was to replace injured “Sandman” James Irvin (14-5) versus Wilson Gouveia (12-6) at UFC 102 in Portland 29 August.
Shortly after, Gouveia pulled from the fight with an injury and the UFC reset the Simpson v Herman matchup.
Simpson TKO’d “Wrecking Machine” Tim McKenzie (10-6) in his UFC debut at Fight Night 18 in Nashville 1 April. He told Fighters.com that he was a little annoyed by the switchups, but would fight anybody at the end of the day.
Herman won a unanimous decision over “The Crow” David Louiseau (18-9) in Montreal at UFC 97 18 April.
