Fighters.com’s Heavyweight Champion “Last Emperor” Fedor Emelianenko (28-1) may fight before the year is out, he said in an interview posted at his official site Friday.

“In truth, I’m not experiencing intense pain. The hand is healing. We will hope that everything turns out fine; but, the earliest competition planned is in November. In St. Petersburg, a sambo world championship is taking place.
“I’d like to take part also in Affliction II, but I don’t know yet whether that’s possible,” he answered when asked whether he plans to fight in October.
The topic of his brother, Fighters.com’s tenth-ranked heavyweight Aleksander Emelianenko (13-3), came up; but, Fedor would not comment.
“I cannot comment on this situation in any way. Aleksander was indeed kept from competing because of some kind of blood test. Therefore, I can’t say anything.”
Emelianenko’s next plans include flying to America for press conferences and negotiations with Affliction.
