UFC welterweight Carlos Condit has found more consistent success than UFC Fight Night 27 foe Martin Kampmann since the two tussled in 2009 but that doesn’t mean he’s expecting anything other than a tough test when they lock horns on August 28. Kampmann owns wins over a number of top opponents and has 15 finishes in 20 total victories.
Though Condit is approaching him with due respect, especially given the fact Kampmann beat him in their original encounter, that’s not to say he isn’t confident he’ll come out with his hand raised later this month. “The Natural Born Killer” spoke to Inside MMA about the rematch, explaining…
“Dropping my UFC debut in a close Split Decision to Martin was definitely disappointing. I’ve gone on and I’ve done a lot in the division but it’s definitely been in the back of my mind as something I want to avenge.”
“Kampmann is very well-rounded. He has a lot of ways to win. I just have to be better in each aspect of the game. I feel like my movement and my striking are better…he’s very good with straight lines, not so much on angles. And I feel I have the endurance to really push the five, five minutes rounds.”
