Ronda Rousey still struggling to adjust to life in the limelight

It’s hard to believe that Strikeforce bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey made her professional debut less than 18 months ago. Since then the 25-year old has become one of the most popular fighters in MMA, landing a number of endorsement deals and media opportunities that peers with 3X her experience are still chasing.

“Rowdy Ronda” recently addressed how her much her life has changed in such a short span and, according to her, dealing with the differences is still a work in progress.

Rousey Says Sex During Fight-Week Affects Performance in a Positive Way

“I’m adjusting to everything being awesome all the time, cause I’m used to having eviction and food and dog food problems, cockroach problems, and “gas is leaking” problems and “water pressure is out” problems, “we have no hot water” problems,” said Rousey in an All-Access special produced by Showtime to promote her upcoming title-fight against Sarah Kaufman. “I mean just a couple months ago I had three jobs. I had no air conditioning in my car. I was living off the Costco Diet. We called the ‘Bomb Shelter Diet’ actually, because we’d just go to Costco and buy everything that wouldn’t expire.”

“It’s surreal, man. It doesn’t even feel like my life,” she humbly concluded.

Rousey and Kaufman are set to meet on August 18 in main event action. Rousey is unbeaten thus far in her career at 5-0, while Kaufman is the more experienced of the two at 15-1 and has won her last three fights.
