Hirsute welterweight Johny Hendricks (6-0) whipped The Ultimate Fighter 7 champ Amir Sadollah (1-1) in 29 seconds at UFC 101 in Philadelphia Saturday night.

Sadollah lunged forward with a sharp 1-2, but Hendricks weaved a straight left inside Sadollah’s guard. Sadollah backpeddaled and Hendricks stalked with another left that dropped Sadollah. After several undefended left hooks to Sadollah’s head, referee Dan Miragliota ended the fight.

What??? Hendricks dropped Amir, then as Amir was trying to get back up, Hendricks landed several unanswered left hooks to the BACK of Sadollah’s head – Amir still trying to get back up just fine – and Mirgliotta, not McCarthy, stopped the fight. I wouldn’t be surprised to see this guy get banned from UFC events after that terrible job.

Good call on the ref! I’m typing these things quick. But, it was a good stoppage. Sadollah wasn’t defending himself. Doesn’t matter if he was out or not. He wasn’t defending himself.

I think it was stopped a little prematurely. And it wasn’t John McCarthy that officiated it! He was trying to get up. Tough break!

I want my UFC 101 money back. LOL. Terrible card thus far. I feel bad for Forrest and Amir. But for very different reasons.

The Amir call was BullS**t. That ref robbed him and I think Amir needs to appeal that call. I don’t know if he can or not but hendricks was most definitely pounding the back of Amir’s head ILLEGAL!!! And the ref stops it while he is getting up!!!! I am so mad right now.

hendricks would’ve knocked him even more senseless if the ref didn’t stop it, he took like 10 punches to the temple while stumbling to get up but he never made it off his knees if you watch again

It’s the fighters responsibility to intelligently defend himself. If he doesn’t, the ref has to stop the fight. Sadollah got dropped and wasn’t defending the follow-up shots. Correct call by Miragliotta.

Wow Chad Edward you are an idiot; and don’t delete this because of the criticism but every other article mentions how it was ended prematurely– Amir was clearly on his way back up; he didn’t defend the punches because his hands were on the ground so he could clearly stand up. How do you stand up without placing your hands on the ground? Stop blogging about MMA forever

What? Are we high school together, pal? I don’t care what every other article says. Again, the rule is you have to be intelligently defending yourself. He wasn’t. Good stoppage.

umm. how about what the fight again and this time was in slow motion as hendricks doesnt connect worth a shit with that last bunch. they skipped across his body if they even touched. early call. dan was at a bad angle and couldnt see that the shit wasnt even landing..

sadollah was on his hands and knees getting hammered in the side, not back, of the head. he had the opportunity to stand up or try to pull guard or something and he didn’t, therefore, if he was out or not…it’s his fault for not intelligently defending himself. you people need to learn the rules, any ref would’ve called it.

Dan Miragliotta=f*ckin retard. This jack ass actually poked heath herring in the eye before a fight! He ignored Al Turk taking fingers to the eyes. There was a tear on the underside of his eyeball. The Kimbo-Thompson fight was a disaster.
I was actually annoyed when that big dumb mofo entered the cage. Here come the bullsh*t calls. Ever wonder why he seems so corrupt? He works for the NJ State Athletic Control Board.
