Rich Franklin confirmed for headlining clash with Cung Le at UFC on Fuel 6

After a good deal of speculation on the matter it looks like former UFC middleweight champ Rich Franklin will indeed face former Strikeforce title-holder Cung Le in the main event at UFC on Fuel 6. The November 10 show will mark the organization’s first show in China, adding yet another country to the UFC’s list of conquered territories.

UFC President Dana White confirmed the match-up after the conclusion of UFC on FOX 4. The only other clash currently attached to the lineup will pit welterweights Dong Hyun Kim and Paulo Thiago against each other.

Franklin is coming off an exciting win over Wanderlei Silva at UFC 147 where he weathered an early storm to secure a hard-fought, five-round decision win. The victory improved the legendary competitor’s overall record to 29-6.

Meanwhile, the 8-2 Le picked up his first career win inside the Octagon when he outpointed Patrick Cote last month at UFC 148. Prior to the performance all of the San Shou expert’s triumphs had involved a strike-based stoppage.
