Donald Cerrone stated he wants to fight six times in 2014.

So far, as we approach August, “Cowboy” has made good on three fights, defeating Jim Miller recently.

Cerrone was scheduled to fight in September against unbeaten lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov, but a knee injury knocked Nurmagomedov to the sidelines. That, though, doesn’t mean Cerrone wants to join him there.

“I’m willing to fight anyone,” said Cerrone, during a recent interview with MMAjunkie.com. “It’s super easy. Call Dana (White). I’m ready. All you’ve got to do is call the boss and tell him you want to fight.”

Cerrone (24-6) has won four straight overall since an August decision loss to Rafael dos Anjos. He submitted Evan Dunham last November before returning in January with a knockout of Adriano Martins. This past April, the 31-year-old finished off Edson Barboza with a rear-naked choke.

Since joining the UFC in 2010 from the WEC, Cerrone has gone 11-3. Over those 14 fights, he’s won “Fight of the Night” three times, “Knockout of the Night” three more times, two “Performance” bonuses and two more “Submission” awards.

The Jackson-Winkeljohn fighter admitted he was looking forward to testing his skills against Nurmagomedov. The two have had three previous planned fights fall through.

“It’s bad luck,” he said. “One was called off because of Ramadan or whatever he has to do for his religion. He didn’t want to take the fight because it would put him during that period.

“The time before that I don’t really remember the logistics. Now, he’s injured. I’m kind of bummed. I was really looking forward to that fight.”

UPDATE: In an update, Cerrone has been linked to a possible September fight with current Bellator champion Eddie Alvarez. You can read the latest on this over at FightLine.
