Dennis Bermudez remained unbeaten since a loss in the finals of The Ultimate Fighter, defeating Clay Guida Saturday night at UFC on FOX 12.

The win, the seventh in a row for Bermudez, was the biggest of his streak, as it came against a Top-10 fighter.

“I said if I finished Clay Guida, I would like a title shot,” Bermudez said. “I’ll take anybody in the Top-5 (next).”

Bermudez (14-3) lost to Diego Brandao via submission back in 2011. Since, he’s topped the likes of Pablo Garza, Matt Grice, Max Holloway, Steven Siler and now Guida. Using excellent wrestling and precision-striking, “The Menace” rolled through “The Carpenter.”

“He is an awesome fighter,” Bermudez said. “To beat him is something else.”

Bermudez was never in much jeopardy, thwarting the majority of Guida’s offense by stopping the takedown. He now owns three submission wins to his credit, including two in the Octagon.

Bermudez landed 29 more strikes overall and 26 more significant strikes in the round-plus of action. That includes many shots Guida was credited for on the ground and in a bad position.
