It appears former Bellator lightweight champ Eddie Alvarez will fight at least one more time inside the organization’s cage before testing free agency. Alvarez is considered to be one of the top 155ers not signed to a Zuffa roster and will likely be courted by the UFC/Strikeforce the instant his deal runs out.
However, before that can happen Alvarez is contracted to one more match-up and will fulfill it on October 12 at Bellator 76 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
MMAJunkie was first to confirm the clash, though no opponent has been linked to a potential pairing with Alvarez.
Alvarez holds an overall record of 23-3 and is coming off an opening round knockout of Shinya Aoki. He also owns past victories over the likes of Pat Curran, Tatsuya Kawajiri, Josh Neer, Joachim Hansen, and Roger Huerta.
