When Bellator first signed welterweight Paul Daley they went all in. They immediately launched a PR campaign, and even ran a poll on line in which Daley won to be the first fight the organization aired on their new home Spike TV. The bad news for Bellator came when they tried to get Daley a VISA to fight in the United States and they were made aware of his legal difficulties back in England. Recently word began to circulate that he had cleared up all of his legal issues, but something else must have come up. Bellator announced today that they have released Paul Daley.
The promotion also released Maiquel Falcao, as a video of Falcao circulated of him being involved in a street fight that started when he struck a female. After the video surfaced, Falcao’s background was gone over and it came to light that he had a few assault charges in the past.
Bellator Representative Anthony Mazzuca told MMAJunkie:
“We examine each situation on a case-by-case basis, and in these two instances, the violent nature of both situations has led to our decision to release both fighters from the organization.
