Most fans will tell you UFC light heavyweight Glover Teixeira (21-2) is on a path towards becoming the division’s next champion. However, to accomplish that feat he’ll have to first get by Ryan Bader (15-3) on September 4 at UFC Fight Night 28. Though Bader has basically been dismissed as a threat before even entering the cage, the heavy-handed wrestler remains a talented athlete with knockout power and a polished grappling background.
Bader doesn’t mind the fact people have counted him out, telling TATAME he actually likes flying under the radar…
“As the underdog, the pressure is much lower. When the pressure drops, I can develop my full potential. When you’re the favorite there is a lot of tension, people expect you to win. But when you’re the underdog there is almost no pressure.”
