After losing quickly to “Last Emperor” Fedor Emelianenko (28-1), an emotionally broken “Maine-iac” Tim Sylvia (26-6) told the press in Anaheim, east of Los Angeles, “I will be back.”
What’s next for Syliva, who has lost three of his last four fights, is heavily booed by crowds in his home nation versus a foreign opponent, and no longer has the promotional strength of the UFC behind him?
Sylvia will be back, but versus whom? Before being destroyed by Emelianenko Saturday night, he could argue that he was a top heavyweight despite his lack of marketability and likability.
Now, Sylvia is 1-3 over the last 20 months and has to deal with being a highlight on Emelianenko’s reel, a spec in “The Last Emperor’s” shadow.

He’s in trouble. Looks pretty depressed. Ouch!
The saddest part is towards the end. Syliva sounds stuffed up. He doesn’t have a cold.
The reporter next to me prodded him, “Did you get hit in the nose?”
Sylvia said, “No, I think it hit me in the chin.”
The reporter proded further and the whole room became uncomfortable because it was clear to everyone to her that, “Honey, he’s been crying. Leave him alone!”
Damn! Almost feel bad for him.
Yea what can you do? You win some you lose some! It’s all part of it….. Anytime you get in there you have a 50% chance of winning or getting laid out! It’s all good Silvia you shall return indeed!
