Dwayne ”The Rock” Johnson is official for Monday Night RAW’s 1,000th episode on July 23. The Rock confirmed participation via Tweet–ah, modern technology–this week in a post that actually sounds like a breathless short-sentenced Rock promo: “RAW’s 1000th episode. The People’s Champ returns.. As promised, my goal: THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP. #RELENTLESS” Rock was speaking in hashtags before there were hashtags.
WWE plugged The Rock for episode #1,000 during RAW on Monday night. If the Rock is serious about sticking himself into the WWE Championship picture that could mean a one-off match against whoever ends up champion after Money in the Bank, or buildup to a big match at Summerslam against John Cena or CM Punk.
It’s a good time to be Johnson: he banked $36 million in the last year, ranking fourth on Forbes‘s list of Hollywood’s highest paid actors.
