For a solid chunk of time the hot match-up fans were calling for featured UFC light heavyweight champ Jon Jones meeting heavy-handed wrestler Dan Henderson. However, after Split Decision losses in his last two tilts, Henderson no longer carries the same appeal as he did prior to the slide. As such, Jones has moved on and no longer has the urge to throw down with the legendary brawler.
Jones recently spoke to media members at UFC 162 where he said:
“I have no wishes to fight Dan Henderson. He’s a guy that’s done a lot for the sport already. He’s a lot older. I think he’s a guy that a lot of people would expect me to beat anyways. So I have no big dreams of fighting Dan Henderson, his last fight with Rashad Evans, you could really see him slowing down, so fighting him I don’t think really proves much.”
