UFC female bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has looked unstoppable in going through the likes of Sara McMann, Miesha Tate and Liz Carmouche during her MMA career.
However, as she prepares to meet Alexis Davis at UFC 175, Rousey feels this is the best version yet of herself.
“This is the most focused I’ve been in camp ever,” said Rousey, during a recent appearance on UFC Tonight. “This is the best camp ever. This fight camp is all about this fight and I’m more focused for this fight than ever before.”
Rousey has split her time between fights, camps and filming roles for movies, but knows she’ll receive a tough opponent in Davis. The fighter is unbeaten in the UFC and has worked through Jessica Eye and others to secure her shot at Rousey.
“She’s the only one I haven’t beaten in the division yet,” Rousey said. “This is the first time I’m fighting a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt.”
While Rousey believes in the skills Davis presents, she feels the Canadian could do a better job of promoting herself.
“She gets a lot less attention, not because she’s not an amazing fighter, but because her Instagram account is still private,” said Rousey, who is constantly updating fans on social media. “If she put out a little more effort to put herself out more, maybe the odds makers would focus on her more.”
FightLine will have complete coverage of the entire card, including Rousey-Davis and Chris Weidman vs. Lyoto Machida for the middleweight title.
