Former WEC Lightweight Champion “Razor” Rob McCullough (16-4) and undefeated “Cowboy” Donald Cerrone (8-0) will battle for top WEC contendership 10 September, McCullough’s agency MMA Agents confirmed Wednesday.
McCullough squeaked by“Machine” Kenneth Alexander (5-3) by split decision in Sacramento 1 June, his first fight since losing the WEC title to “Worm” Jamie Varner (14-2) by vicious knockout.
Cerrone has submitted all eight of his opponents, sixth of them in the first round.
His last victim, Danny Castillo, found himself in an armbar just 1:30 after the opening bell in Sacramento.
