For Clint Hester, tonight’s bout with Antonio Braga Neto at UFC Fight Night 44 is all about one thing: staying unbeaten inside the Octagon.
Since appearing on The Ultimate Fighter 17 and falling in the first round of the tournament, Hester (10-3) has strong together three consecutive UFC wins. Overall, he has a six-fight win streak dating back to 2010.
“It’s time to really get down to business and really just keep working, keep working and keep getting better,” said Hester, during a recent interview with MMAjunkie.com. “We have a saying: ‘One-percent better each day.’ That’s just what I’m trying to do…try to follow my plans to reach my next goal, which is to get into that Top-10.”
The 27-year-old Hester is coming off a February decision victory over Andy Enz that followed up finishes vs. Dylan Andrews and Bristol Marunde in 2013. Of his 10 career wins, seven have been knockouts and one more came via submission.
“I take one fight at a time and win each fight,” Hester said. “As long as I keep winning the next fight, I’m on pace. I’m on the right track.”
In Neto (9-1), Hester will be facing an equally hot fighter, as the Brazilian has won each of his last four bouts – including a win in his UFC debut last June. Neto also holds a decision victory over Cezar Ferreira from 2007.
The Hester-Neto bout will be part of the FOX Sports 1-televised main card, which FightLine will be providing complete coverage from, including live play-by-play and all your post-fight news and information.
