UFC Featherweight Frankie Edgar is looking to rebound from three losses in a row when he climbs into the octagon with Charles Oliveira at UFC 162: Silva Vs Weidman. While many fighters would be prime candidates for the ‘pink slip grand prix,’ Edgar’s losses happen to be by the hands of sitting champions so its pretty safe to assume he isn’t eligible. The big difference in this fight is that for the first time since 2009 Edgar will have to get his work done inside of three rounds instead of five, but according to his pre fight interview he is fully prepared to get on Oliveira right away in order to win the fight.
UFC 162: Silva Vs Weidman takes places July 6 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main event will feature reigning Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva’s 11th title defense against challenger Chris Weidman.
