“Mayhem” Miller Blames Dana White for MMA’s Problems in New York

Retired rapscallion (and former fighter) Jason Miller hasn’t announced any plans to make a comeback and, based on some recent statements, it’s likely he won’t ever see action in the Octagon even if he did decide to go that route. “Mayhem” recently took issue with a Tweet from UFC President Dana White regarding the opposition to legalizing Mixed Martial Arts in New York and blasted the outspoken executive in response.

“I already know why it’s not legal in NY, Dana White. You keep blocking every attempt at a fighters union, firing everyone who suggests one,” wrote Miller on the social networking site. “The unions are headquartered in NYC, and you can’t get in Without bowing your head to them. Your inflated ego won’t allow you so you resort to getting smart people to write spin-propaganda, painting them in a bad light, while your monopoly marches on.”

White did not respond.

Things were looking good for MMA’s plight in New York until recently. It is one of the few States to still be holding out against adopting the sport. Rather than actual opposition to what goes on in a cage, the fight against MMA is for reasons many feel relate to a separate issue between the Culinary Union and the Fertitta Brothers (who own the UFC).
