Fighters like Nick Diaz, B.J. Penn, and Randy Couture have all walked away from Mixed Martial Arts only to ultimately end their respective retirements and return to the Octagon for one more shot at glory in the infamous eight-sided cage. As such, recently shelved superstar Forrest Griffin hasn’t given up complete hope on an eventual comeback clash.
Griffin admitted such in a recent interview with MMAFightCorner where he made it clear his health-related woes were the root of his decision to call it a career.
“Most guys are like ”˜Ok when can I start training again?’”¦I got into this because I like fighting, I like training. It’s fun, you know.”
“I’ll start training again, September, August. Maybe if I’m just magically healed and like everything works great, then I’ll have to try [fighting] again. But, I’m not healthy now.”
