A pair of Brits has been added to the UFC’s September stop in Nottingham, England with each drawing an apt adversary as well. According to official announcements, unbeaten lightweight Paul Sass will take on Ultimate Fighter alumnus Matt Wiman while welterweight Che Mills will test his stand-up against seasoned veteran Duane Ludwig.
One of the brightest young stars to emerge in awhile, Sass’ submission wizardry has helped him rack up thirteen straight victories to open up his career. The 23-year old has tapped out all three of the foes he’s faced inside the Octagon including a recent win over Jacob Volkmann. Comparably, Wiman – who has never been submitted – is 14-6 with past success against Thiago Tavares, Cole Miller, and Mac Danzig.
The 14-5 Mills, who turns 30 the same day as the show takes place, is coming off a strike-based stumble to Rory MacDonald after debuting in sensational fashion with a sub-minute finish of Chris Cope. Similarly, Ludwig will be looking to erase the bitter taste of defeat from his mouth when he mixes it up with Mills. He holds an overall record of 21-13 with sixteen stoppages to his credit.
