Carlos Condit concerned about TRT affecting the “purity” of MMA

UFC welterweight Carlos Condit’s nickname is the “Natural Born Killer” based on his aggressive approach to competition and propensity for putting opponents away before scorecards come into play. However, based on some recent statements the term “natural” in relation to Condit could not be more appropriate in describing his lifestyle, as the 28-year old prides himself on results stemming from hard work and God-given talent rather than prescription medication.

Condit recently spoke about the testosterone replacement therapy where he reiterated his feelings about fighting clean, also expressing concern about the increased presence of TRT on the MMA scene.

Condit Shrugs Off Criticism About Decision to Wait for the Return of Georges St-Pierre

“I think it’s a slippery slope, you know what I mean? You let guys start using testosterone and it’s – where does it end,” Condit wondered out loud in an interview with Gracie Mag. “Some of these younger guys…guys maybe in their late twenties and thirties using testosterone replacement therapy…I wonder why is their testosterone low in the first place? And my theory is they may have been using something in the past, because when you use steroids, your body, after you get off has a hard time bringing yourself up to natural levels.”

“I love MMA because of the purity of the sport and I think it just muddies the water when you start throwing stuff like that in there,” he concluded, emphasizing again his own decision to avoid performance enhancing drugs whether legal or otherwise.
