WWE Diva Layla Reflects on Days as Miami Heat Dancer

After the Miami Heat crushed my soul last night in Game 1 of the NBA Finals last night, WWE.com published an interview with Divas Champion Layla discussed her stint as a dancer for the team, including the Heat’s championship run in 2006:  ”It was electrifying because Miami hadn’t won anything in a long time. We knew we were close to getting a ring, so everyone was really excited.”

I was really hoping for some cheerful homerism to boost my spirits but I guess saying anything nice about the Demon Lebron would basically be trolling most of America, and she’s supposed to be a babyface. But that photo works just as well.

Layla also explained how her time on the hardwood helped prepare her for her job as a WWE Diva, saying, “ It gave me a taste of performing in front of crowds who were sports-oriented and not dance-oriented. Coming over here was a different wake-up call. I knew the Heat fans were loud, but the WWE fans are louder!”

No wonder she’s been such a “slam dunk” as a Diva! Sorry, I couldn’t resist…
