There is a well-known saying about everything being bigger in Texas and it certainly seems to ring true when it comes to the next UFC event scheduled for the Lone Star State. Though not a stadium show, UFC President Dana White recently revealed heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez would likely defend his belt against Junior dos Santos in Houston this October.
No specific date/venue has been announced though the event is expected to be UFC 166. Dos Santos and Velasquez have fought twice before with each winning one of the tilts in convincing fashion.
The 12-1 Velasquez is coming off an 81-second knockout of Antonio Silva. The victory was his tenth strike-based stoppage. By comparison, Dos Santos is 16-2 with twelve TKOs and past triumphs over the likes of Frank Mir, Fabricio Werdum, Mark Hunt, and Roy Nelson.
